Trump's first comment after leaving the presidency ... he made vague words before his aide intervened to break the conversation

Former US President Donald Trump said Friday, January 22, 2021, “We will do something, but not yet,” refraining from saying anything more about his plans after leaving the White House. And his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, assumed the presidency of the United States for a period of 4 years.

Trump wants a breather

Trump made his brief and vague statement to The Washington Examiner while he was having lunch with friends at the Grill Room at Trump International Golf Course, before an aide to the former president intervened and ended the conversation quickly and politely.

These were the first comments Trump made to a journalist since he left office on Wednesday January 20, 2021.

Last Friday, Trump went for the second day in a row in a motorcade to his Maralago resort, specifically to his golf course, in Florida, which he arrived last Wednesday, absent from the inauguration of his successor, and has settled on his private property since then.

An aide to the president said earlier this week: "He needs a break. I think we all hope that he will be content with playing golf for a month, but he always prefers to move."

Trump took a small crew to Florida with him, and they began working from the Maralago resort after they began to ramp up their work to serve the former president.

What can Trump do?

Although mystery surrounds the former president's plans, Trump has made sure everyone knows that he is considering running for the White House in 2024.

Reports have also indicated that he is considering creating a new party, called The Patriot Party , or "The National Party," as his path to running for the presidency, according to The Wall Street Journal.

For his part, Carl Domino, a member of the Trump Club since its inauguration in 1999, expressed his belief that Trump and his team will in the coming months reassess the last difficult weeks of the former president in office (opposition to election results, the attack on the Capitol building , and his banning of networks. Social), it will be reassessed in the coming months.

But he said he did not know what Trump might do next, and Domino, a former Florida lawmaker, described Trump as "a man whose actions are very difficult to predict."

Trump is currently facing efforts to prosecute him, as the leader of the Democratic majority in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, announced that an agreement had been reached to postpone Trump's trial until February 8, according to Reuters.

It is expected that the House of Representatives will submit the impeachment bill accusing Trump of inciting the disobedience to the Senate officially, on Monday.

On January 13, Trump became the first US president to support the House of Representatives impeachment for the second time, and the Senate cleared him last year in the first trial, which focused on Trump's demand that Ukraine investigate Biden and his son.

Conviction of Trump in the Senate will require the approval of two-thirds of the members, which means that 17 of Trump's comrades in the Republican Party will have to vote against him, while the conviction of the former president will clear the way for the vote to prevent him from taking office again, a vote that requires a simple majority.
